Healthcare
Great emphasis has been put on improving the quality of medical services in the mainland. The Foundation sponsored the establishment of hospitals and the enhancement of medical equipment. Medical assistance funds are also set up to enable citizens to have access to quality health service.
Funding the Construction of Hospitals
The Foundation funded the construction of Dongguan People’s Hospital, Shilong Hospital and Shipai Hospital starting from the 1980s. In 2000, Uncle Fai donated RMB10 million for the redevelopment project of Shipai Clinic. This benevolent action was echoed by many generous donors. The clinic reopened as Shipai Hospital and commenced operation in 2002.
Improving Medical Equipment
To enhance the quality of medical services, the Foundation provided sponsorships to Dongguan People’s Hospital, Shilong Hospital and Dongguan City Medical Fund with an aim to upgrade and acquire medical equipment for modernizing the healthcare practices.
WKF Outstanding Hospital Staff Award Scheme
In 2012, The Foundation donated RMB1 million for the establishment of “WKF Outstanding Hospital Staff Award Scheme” in Shipai Hospital. Each year, it awards health professionals who has remarkable performance in clinical care.
